Dyson Red Button Batteries for V11 and V15 Now Available
We’ve now got stock of the Dyson red button batteries used in many V11 and V15 cordless models. These are the click-in style batteries that release from the machine by pressing a red button on the handle, not the older screw-in type.
If your Dyson vacuum uses this type of battery, you’ll know that finding a reliable replacement isn’t as easy as it should be. There are plenty of listings online, but most of them fall into the “too cheap to be good” category. We’ve sourced ours from a trusted Dyson battery supplier we’ve used for years — and they’re now available to buy.
These Dyson red button batteries are 25.2V lithium-ion and rated at 4000 mAh. They replace both Dyson part numbers 970425-01 and 970938-01, which are essentially the same part under different numbers. Dyson quietly phased one out in favour of the other, but the battery design hasn’t changed.

Dyson Red Button Batteries: What They Fit
These red button Dyson batteries are compatible with all the Dyson cordless models below that use the click-in battery system. That includes:
- V11 SV15
- V11 SV16 (Outsize)
- V11 SV17
- V11 SV18
- V15 Detect SV22
- V15 Detect SV28
- V15 Detect SV29
They do not fit the earlier SV14 models, which use the screw-in battery. The key difference is whether your machine has a large red button to remove the battery. If it does, this is the correct type. If your battery is fixed with screws, you’ll need the older version instead.
The Truth About Battery Capacity
You’ll see some wild claims online about battery capacity. Sellers on eBay and Amazon will tell you their Dyson red button batteries are 8000 mAh, 9000 mAh, even 12000 mAh. That’s complete fiction.
There is no Dyson-compatible battery on the market with a genuine capacity anywhere near those figures. They’re made-up numbers, often added by Chinese sellers looking to make a quick sale.
For reference, the original Dyson battery is 3600 mAh. Ours are 4000 mAh — a realistic and modest improvement. If you see anything much beyond that, take it as a red flag. It usually means cheap internal cells packed into a fancy plastic case. They might work for a few weeks, but they don’t last.
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. That applies doubly to batteries.

Why Ours Are Worth It
We’ve sold Dyson parts for over 20 years and don’t deal in cut-price imports or unbranded tat. Our Dyson red button batteries come from a proper supplier, not a pop-up Chinese seller using a cartoon logo and no contact number.
They’ve got a proven track record and a very low failure rate — that’s why we’ve stuck with them for so long. These aren’t the cheapest you’ll find online, but they’re built to last. And you won’t need to replace them in a few months.
Better Value When You Buy Direct
We do sell these on eBay too, but the price there is always higher. That’s because eBay takes over 20% in seller fees. Amazon is even worse.
The batteries are the same, but you’ll always get the best price by buying directly from us. No middlemen, no third-party fees, and more of your money goes into the product rather than the platform.
We’re a proper independent specialist, not a dropshipper or a box-shifter.

Tracked Delivery and Security Marking
All our Dyson red button batteries are marked for security to prevent fraud and are sent via Royal Mail Tracked delivery. We don’t accept returns on batteries, because a faulty main unit can ruin a new battery instantly — and that’s a risk we can’t take.
Dyson Red Button Batteries – Where To Buy
