Dyson Launch the AM04 Fan Heater – The Dyson Hot
Dyson have launched a fan heater that seems to be based on their existing range of fans. It is called the AM04 or the Dyson Hot. It has heating elements in the form of “stones” in the air outlets that provide the heat.
This means no hot elements and no fire risks. The remote control is stored magnetically on the top of the unit (what a neat idea – who can never find their remote control?). If you knock the unit over, it automatically switches off. Another cool idea from Dyson.
It was, in hindsight, a natural extension to the range of fans they produce already. But we never thought of it and wrote to Mr Dyson to suggest it did we?
Here is what it looks like:
As with the fans, it tilts, oscillates and does everything else you would expect of a Dyson fan. Except this one is heater. Hence it is called simply The Dyson Hot.
Here is the Dyson sales blurb:
Dyson hot
Heats the whole room faster than any other.
The Dyson Hot™ fan heater projects heat further, heating the whole room faster than any other. It has precise temperature control, and there are no fast-spinning blades or visible heating elements, so it is easy to clean. There is also an automatic cut out that switches off the heating plates if the unit is tipped over.
Air Multiplier™ technology
Air is accelerated through a narrow aperture around the fan loop. This creates a jet of hot air that passes over an airfoil-shaped ramp, which channels its direction. Surrounding cool air is drawn into the airflow, amplifying it 6 times through processes known as inducement and entrainment.
Whole-room heat distribution
Some conventional heaters blow heat in a narrow stream because they don’t oscillate. So the whole room is not heated evenly. The Dyson Hot™ fan heater oscillates smoothly to distribute heat across the whole room.
Touch-tiltMost conventional heaters can’t be tilted to direct warm air where you want for personal heating. The Dyson Hot™ fan heater pivots on its own centre of gravity, staying put without having to be clamped down. You can direct airflow where you want it.
Here is the video on it by James Dyson.

Prices are $399.99 in the USA and £269.99 in the UK. A little expensive as one would expect, but with the price of gas now, and winter coming, it might not be as bad as it sounds.
