Where to Buy an Extra Long Dyson Flex.
So you want an extra-long flex for your Dyson?
Maybe you want a replacement flex for your Kirby? You are in luck too!
Some call it a cord, lead, wire or cable – its a tomato tomarto thing. We say flex.
Technically, Dyson do not supply extra length flexes for their machines.
Of course, you can buy a general purpose flex for typically between £15 and £25 from any reputable electrical seller.
But I have found some way cheaper than that!
Take a look at these:
This is a purple cum lavender flex designed for Kirby models: Sentria, Tradition, Heritage I, Heritage II and Legend I.
However, Kirby machines usually have a red or a black flex on – these are from a batch made in the wrong colour in error.
Hence the supplier moved them on cheaper into the trade to clear them.
Here’s the good bit: They are ten metres long (that’s 32′ in old money). That is longer than a standard Dyson flex.
But better still, as many Dysons are purple or lavender in colour, their manufacturing mistake is suddenly to our benefit — a colour coded flex!
As you can see, they come with that funny kettle type plug on one end. Which is a Kirby thing it seems.
You chop that off, fashion the correct spade connections for your Dyson in the highly competent manner that we expect of discerning Dyson Medic readers (because if you don’t know your way around electrical appliances, you shouldn’t be reading this anyway) and you are good to go with a longer flex than before.
